AFAIK, the alarm clock information is stored in PRAM (the small 
non-volatile RAM that contains certain system settings that need to 
persist across reboots & shutdowns).
Did you try to zap your PRAM (hold down cmd-opt-"P"-"R" when rebooting 
and keep them down until you hear another chime; best keep them until 
you've heard the additional chime 3 times to make sure PRAM is 
completely zapped)?
Oh, well, I hope the PowerBook Duo already had this hotkey - not too 
sure about this, after all that's a while since the Duo was sold ;-) 
Anyway, I'd give it a try...
