[Ham-Mac] Alarm clock

Good morning,
	I am seeking advice on a problem related to the "Alarm Clock"
accessory, that was supplied by Apple, in the operating systems prior to
7.6.1.

	I have an old PowerBook Duo, which been upgraded to OS7.6.1, and 
dedicated to log keeping, and it has been out of use for several months. 

	When I tried to power it up, it refused, so I pressed the reset button,
at the back, and tried again. This time, it powered up, and loaded the
appropriate software, however, the Apple logo, top left hand corner of
the screen, was flashing alternatively with a small clock. 

	The small clock is an indicator that the "Alarm Clock" facility  has,
or is, operating, and appears to be a relic of an earlier operating
system  

	My problem is, that I cannot switch this off,  for the control panel,
which relates to the alarm clock, no longer exists, it is not a feature
of the later operating systems......

	So, does anyone have the solution to this problem, if you have, then I
would be grateful for your advice.....sincerely, John. G3JVC.
