Compiling Xastir is a piece of cake. There are a couple of step by step 
web pages out there. I wouldn't hold my breath for X-APRS. I don't 
think there has been an update in 4 or 5 years. Xastir gets updated 
almost daily. It is the future of reliable APRS software.
