Hello,
Thanks to all, especially Mike Pappas, for the input on the ground
system for my new house.
I will use the ufer bar setup as it ties all my electrical ground
together. I am going to purchase a SteppIR vertical for my first
antenna at the new place and the a retractable tower. I'll make use of
radials for the vertical according to the SteppIR plans and make sure I
have a good ground for the tower. I checked for my area (Sequim, WA)
and it appears that lightening is extremely rare so I'm not too worried
but will take the necessary precautions. As soon as I can access my
ARRL Handbook and Antenna book from storage I'll educate myself
further.
Any recommendations for a good 80 meter antenna? The BigIr only covers
to 40 meters.
Again, I appreciate all the help from members on this list.
Have a great holiday.

Scott
