[Ham-Mac] PC Emulation - Soundcard Modes Experience?

I've been delaying and delaying breaking down and buying a PC just to use
here in the shack but may be at the end of the line.....before going down
this road do I wonder if anyone out there has had any success running
Windows emulation (Virtual PC type) and the soundcard based programs that
are available. I specifically am interested in some of the newer modes like
MT-63 and MFSK-16 to use for Army MARS comms. I have a perfectly good setup
with my iMac and IIsi running PK-232's on RTTY and PACTOR and can run PSK-31
with Chris Smolinski's MultiMode (Note to Dick AA5VU - I will break down and
move the extra iMac into the shack and play with OS X and Fink and all that
stuff to try another PSK approach!).

So, what's the experience??? How about the physical connections for AF
in/out and Xmtr switching -- have the hardware (USB to serial) but what
about the software I/O? If this is a viable solution I may be able to talk
the XYL into letting me move the G4 MDD into the shack ('course I'll have to
get her a G5 to replace it though....nuts).

Thanks in advance!
