What is the basis of these requirements? Are they based on fact and
necessity, or arbitrary? I have heard of many cases of the latter,
because they only want to deal with newer sytems, and indeed a subset of
all systems. It may work perfectly fine on a G3. How does a modem know
the difference between a G3 and G4? Do you need to install any special
s/w of theirs, or is it just an ethernet connection? I think this is a
smoke screen by BT.
