For next time, almost any Mac drawing program will be much easier. For a really professional solution, take a look at CADintosh from Lemke SW.

It's a pretty good CAD program and it comes from the famous GraphicConverter shop. The cost is very low ($32) and you can try before you buy.

I hope your trial with the MSWord hack went ok. I'm always surprised by how hard some people will work to get PC software to do something that is so very easy on the Macintosh.
