I am using Extreme Tracking to monitor the hits on my Website. Of 839
hits over the last three months, ET reports that 18.12% are Mac OS,
78.02% are Windows, 1.58% are Linux, and 2.22% are "other" operating
systems (Unix, Solaris, etc.). This is measured against the general
statement that only 4% to 5% of people use Macs.

While this isn't a very scientific survey (no control, for example),
it reflects my suspicion that amateur radio operators, with their
heightened level of technical ability, tend to use more technically
advanced machinery, meaning it is only natural that a
higher-than-average percent use Macintosh.

My Website is largely devoted to amateur radio including my recent
mini-DXpedition to Labrador. I've had hits from 21 nations
representing all continents except Africa and Antarctica. ET does not
give me a computer-type breakdown by country nor continent.
