I'm running MacOS 9.04 on my wife's 7600/132. It runs fine. The only
problem is it really needs 64Mb RAM or more. I run 8.6 on the kids
6100/60 which also runs fine.
Basically as long as you have enough RAM you can run anything up to 9.1
on any powermac. 9.2 and later require a machine capable of running
MacOS X.
However, saying that I'd recommend you stay with 8.6 unless there is a
pressing reason to upgrade further.
Carl.
