If the Mac is asking for a driver, I am guessing that this is a USB
dongle? I believe there is a way to get VPC to directly access USB
devices (it's been so long since I configured it). I am using VPC3
myself on my iBook to program a USB chip (for a USB geiger counter,

no the page hasn't been updated yet with the USB info, I just finished
building a batch of them this weekend, soldering 32 mil pitch SMD by
hand is fun!) since the programming software is Window only. I have had
no problems doing this, MacOS doesn't ask for a driver, and the windows
s/w under VPC is able to see the device fine. Again, check your VPC
settings, I recall there's an option to handle USB devices differently.
