Good luck with that.  I have had horrible luck running anything under 
WINE that deals with (radio)scanners.  I have the commercial version and 
that doesn't do much better.

Same deal with trying to sync my Palm Treo, under WINE or native.  Weird 
hardware interfaces.

If I had a clue about programming, I'd code a scanner program.  Even the 
native ones don't seem to work correctly.
