[Ham-Linux] Help a n00b out?

I am more concerned about aspects of the Puppy distribution that are
alleged to exist under a non-free license. Presumably, anyone creating
a Linux distribution would release their enhancements under a free
license as their forebears of Slackware, Debian, Red Hat, et. al. have
done. The article on distrowatch alleges the Puppy enhancements are
non-free. If this is so, and I haven't had a chance to verify this for
myself as of yet, then Puppy becomes a poor choice for customized
distributions like FL-Puppy.

Of course, we have no way to prove whether the author of the
distrowatch piece is telling the truth regarding his treatment in the
forums. Only if others come forward to corroborate his story may it
gain a kernel of plausibility. Unfortunately, the "proof" has already
been deleted, if it ever existed. Regardless, a rogue moderator or
forum admin is harmful to any online community.
