Yes, good luck and I mean that in a positive way. I think
Sam may have found you a solution.
Just curious, why Ubuntu. It is not the only distribution
out there. You have Knoppix too and I think both of those
are derived from Debian.
I have tried an earlier version of Ubuntu and did not like
it. I also tried an early version of Knoppix and had
trouble loading it. I tried Debian Sarge and it seemed like
it took forever to install. It was an early version too.
Then I tried Debian Etch and it installed without problems.
I used the net install where most of the stuff was
downloaded off the internet. It took a while but after the
dust settled, it all worked fine and I have since had the
same success installing it on several machines of differing
capability.
