Thanks for the tips Maggie!

My website should now be gif-free except for some gif files generated by 
Microsoft Power Point that I can't seem to get rid of and have the Power 
Point Slide Show work.  I'll let Microsoft and Unysys fight that one out ;)

There was a nice python script that came with gif2png that converted 
most of my website in one fell swoop.  There were a few odds and ends I 
needed to clean up, but it did a really good job.
