Jonathan,
Almost any distribution will allow you to do what you are asking. Assuming
you can get a static IP for your cable modem. Most distributions are
relatively cheap and to help Linux be successful, I support the idea of
buying a copy from one of the companies trying to build a business. Yes
most of the code is freely distributable, but the manufacturer should get
something for their distribution. And in most of the better distributions
there is a decent manual to go along. If you go back one distribution, you
can get "new" for almost nothing.
I use SuSE for most of my systems. RedHat, Debian, and Mandrake all do good
distributions as well.

Subject: [Ham-Linux] Linux Distros
Hello List,
I'd like to begin by saying thank-you to all of those that have given me
help in the past.
I was wondering if someone would be willing to make me some copies of
different Linux Distros (the latest edition, pse). I'm willing to pay for
the cost of the cds and shipping to my QTH....
one thing i want to do is make a linux server and connect it to a cable
connection, and set it up so i can dial into it when I'm on the road,
etc.....any suggestions on the best disto to do this with???? I'd like to
do it with Red Hat if possible....
73,
Jonathan
