Aaron, in your explanation to Kurt you mentioned 8.3 format and LFN and said:

"...For reference, automatic 8.3 creation ended with WinXP - it's now an option

8.3 filename is not automatically created except for critical folder names for

Can you say where the option setting is enable 8.3 is located in Vista, 7 (or 8)?
