[Ham-Computers] Local Ham with computer troubles...

Hi Lauren, (and all)

What anti-virus software do you use with your XP Home Edition?

I was using AVG, but when I tried to update my 2008 program with the 2011
program, it is a ten hour download with my dial-up connection.

Because of the lack of standardization when it comes to program coding, my
screen reading software will not read the screen prompts for AVG when
downloading. But it reads the prompts just fine once it is installed.

I am wondering, once I start the AVG download can I leave it alone for the
ten hours until the download is complete? Or do I have to monitor it for
prompts that may pop up wanting me to make a choice?

I think, and I am not sure of this, that the privacey agreement comes up
after the download is complete. Is this correct?

Since I have nobody nearby to help me with the screen messages, I am going
to have to do this installation by myself. Any suggestions or tips will be
much appreciated.

Thank you.
