[Ham-Computers] Wanting to borrow...

"When I was on dial up, I would start the download and go eat and do other
things,
when I was finished I either had a download or an abortion.
When I had time I would commit it to a CD-R and label it."

I do that too, but I have a 100MB transfer limit per 24 hour period for
dialup and a download rate of about 8 minutes per megabyte, if all goes
well, it would take me 800 minutes to reach a limit that is generally a
fraction of a large music, video or update file, at which point the transfer
is canceled and I'm disconnected resulting in nothing for a lost day.

It's on of those stupid things, like...

When I use a debit card to fill my gas tank, the pump shuts off at $75.
This was OK when fuel was 79 cents a gallon, catastrophically IDIOTIC when a
full tank runs me about $200 on a bad day! Thank goodness I not longer
drive the Willy's, it would take about $475 to fill it nowadays.

We have advanced rapidly into stuttering mediocrity.

My wife suggested I have a friend in some other portion of the country order
the disk for me, have it delived there, then have it RE-delivered to me...
Probably a lot easier than explaining a nearly 4,000 year old delivery
service to Macrocrap.
