Can't give an expert answer, as I'm not using any.  There's a linux/ham 
page with an .au domain that lists ham software but I have to look for 
the link.  Dxzone.com is one.  radio.linux.org.au is the one.

I'd also dl and try the software.  Some of it looks ancient and might 
need to be compiled, which is a PITA if you don't know how.

I mostly run scanners, for which there's almost nothing.
