DosBox: http://www.dosbox.com/
has worked for a person I helped get going using his very old QuickBasic on
XP. Worked fine. Seems to emulate old DOS very well. XP DOS window is not
close enough to old DOS for many original programs. Win 98 DOS was pretty
close.

Subject: [Ham-Computers] Running a DOS program

Hello,

I am trying to run a DOS program called Puff. My operating system is XP.

When I run the program the introduction scren comes on and gives me a choice
of any key or esc

When I press any key or esc nothing happens. I am using a USB keyboard.

I thought it might be that I need to use a PS2 keyboard so I ran it on my
other computer that has a PS2 keyboard and it accepted any key and went to
the program but it will not respond to F keys.

Does anyone have any ideas what I can do to make it recognize all the keys
on my keyboard?

Thanks!
