[Ham-Computers] Need hint about IE8 Toolbar Problem

Do the smart thing 1. UNinstall IE 8 (That is not the same thing as DELETE) Reboot the machine then download IE9 and let it install. ALSO get and run a good registry cleaner to get rid of the junk registry entrys, OLD Windows 98 and XP sometimes required 18 reboot to attempt to clean itself !

Same here.  The second reboot did it.  Whether running Registry Mechanic as 
well had anything to do with it, I don't know.  The strange thing is that 
after it fixed itself, I found that the gold star is still there, but now to 
the right of it is the word "Favorites".  I've apparently been starring at 
it for so many months but ignoring it I guess I just zoned it out.  :-)
