Hi John:
Java runs fine, but just noticed something interesting. I have two
computers I use frequently, plus a 3rd that has limited use (my wife
and daughter use it, primarily to play easy games and get online
news). All run Win XP. I checked to see if Java was installed by
going to C:\Program Files. Only one has Java installed, and I don't
recall having any problems using the other two that might have been
caused by no Java. Well, there were some games they had problems
using, but I didn't pay much attention. Do you know of any typical
app's that require Java?
I guess that if you had serious problems in the future, you could
uninstall Java and see what happens. If future updates occur, you
could run the normal update and if you have issues, use Revo
Uninstaller to uninstall Java, go to their download site and select
the "manual" download. I think they will attempt to fix this problem
before another update is available.
