[Ham-Computers] Windows 7

The issue is that a netbook is not really a full featured computer - they're designed to get on the net, and then do everything from there. They are NOT designed to host and run programs locally.
The version of Win7 installed on them is also a "stripped" version, lacking many features.
Your issue is not Win7, but the netbook, and trying to use the netbook in a way it was not intended.

Please excuse the rant but after two days of working on this piece of crap, I have to vent.
My wife bought a Netbook computer that has Windows 7 pre-installed.
She asked me to set it up for her.
There are so many things that are different from WIN XP ~ Like, no more Outlook Express which we have both used for years.
With Win 7, you HAVE to use Hot Mail and it looks like most of the XP programs will not work on Win 7. However, I was able to get the email set up and anything that is sent to her old email account will go to the Hot Mail inbox. .. .
The computer itself, a Asus Eee PC is a good little machine and with the Asus Wl-330gE wireless adapter, I was able to hook the Netbook up to the existing LAN so she can use the Netbook anywhere in the house without wires. . . .
Would like to hear from any one who has had experience with Win 7.
