Point #1 Get informed BEFORE you buy. You have a LIMITED version of Windows 7. The computer you bought is DESIGNED from the get go to ONLY hook up to the network so you can get email when you travel. Outlook express is OLD software and has been replaced. For only $100.00 you could have got a real laptop with the " full" Windows program. AND Windows 7 is a whole NEW generation designed for max security. Microsoft tells you on thier website that is is generally NOT backward compatible with older programs and YES I bought a NETbook for my wife. We ONLY use it for travel e mail where the advantage is LITE weight will limited capability. Its a trade off. Good luck guy

Subject: [Ham-Computers] Windows 7
Please excuse the rant but after two days of working on this piece of crap, I have to vent.
My wife bought a Netbook computer that has Windows 7 pre-installed.
She asked me to set it up for her.
There are so many things that are different from WIN XP ~ Like, no more Outlook Express which we have both used for years.
With Win 7, you HAVE to use Hot Mail and it looks like most of the XP programs will not work on Win 7. However, I was able to get the email set up and anything that is sent to her old email account will go to the Hot Mail inbox. .. .
The computer itself, a Asus Eee PC is a good little machine and with the Asus Wl-330gE wireless adapter, I was able to hook the Netbook up to the existing LAN so she can use the Netbook anywhere in the house without wires. . . .
Would like to hear from any one who has had experience with Win 7.
