[Ham-Computers] Switching Between Two Routers; Need to reset?

I had a Linksys WRT54-series but sold it because it is "g"
and got a Linksys WRT300N for the added "n" speed, though
it was "pre-n" and is not as fast as the newer full-spec
"n" routers.

I bought a "n" router, the Netgear WNR3500L (the "L"
indicates also that it is Open Source-friendly) so I had
the best of both worlds.

The problem is that it will not interface properly with my
ISP and thus creates problems with some E-mail and some
URL's -- very frustrating!

The connection is PPPoe via cable/fiber.

I wanted to replace my Linksys WRT300N to get the Open
Source access to DD-WRT and Tomato but have to keep it in
line because it just-works whereas the Netgear does not.

Anyone tried a Linksys WRT300N?
