[Ham-Computers] XP PRO SLOW PROBLEM(s) ~ UPDATE!

After dealing with this problem for some time I decided to take drastic 
action ~ I started removing installed programs and lo and behold, the first 
one I removed (CA Internet security suite) solved he problem!!!!

The CA suite is furnished by Brighthouse (Road Runner internet ISP). I had 
called their tech support and asked about my slow problem and mentioned the 
CA software.
They told me that there was no way that the CA software could cause this 
problem; well, so much for the $#)**% experts.

After removing the software, all functions of the machine work as they 
should. . . . .
