[Ham-Computers] Symptoms of failed LCD?

No idea what the problem might be but it is probably not worth fixing. I
would just continue to use it with an old external monitor. Would work good
enough for me for home use.
My rule of thumb is if it is electronics and it is more than 3 or 4 years
old, it is not worth fixing since the repairs generally cost around 50% or
more of the price for a new one and then if you repaired it, it would still
be the old technology. Technology moves so fast now days that if it is more
than a couple years old, it is probably worth updating even if there is
nothing wrong with it. That is why I own 3 laptops already and use the
newest one 99% of the time.......
