[Ham-Computers] Remote desktop help needed

Jeff:

Yes. Scanned in safe mode w/ sys restore off.

The really strange thing about this situation is the fact that I never have 
had a virus or Trojan problem ~ The firewall and the CA security software 
have always done the job. I do not visit any of "those" sites.

The thing that gets me is that I installed a Microsoft program (Remote 
Desktop) on a Microsoft op system (XP PRO) and the problem showed up; The 
Remote Desktop software must have a security hole big enough to drive a semi 
through!

Maybe it is time to switch to Linux???

The other solution would be to reinstall XP ~ has anyone done this (Over the 
top of the existing system) that could guide me through the process?
What would I loose doing this?
