[Ham-Computers] S/PDIF Problems

With most of the audio adapters I've worked with, the Windows sound mixer will parallel the audio to both the analog and S/PDIF connectors. Exceptions are when an app (such as PowerDVD) is specifically configured to exclusively output via S/PDIF so no audio is sent to the analog jacks.

How are you testing the audio and what "type" of audio are you testing with? Any particular application or just Windows itself? Check to make sure the app you're using is configured to send audio to the S/PDIF if it's not using the Windows mixer.

Sounds like the P5N64 is an Nvidia based motherboard. Check Nvidia's website for the latest chipset, audio, and video drivers - you'll need to know which chipset the M/B is using, but most Nvidia drivers are unified. Sometimes the "reference" drivers will work when the vendor specific drivers (ASUS, in this case) fail (usually due to tweaks).

I cant Get the S/PDIF Output to work on my computer. I Have enabled it and set it as default but there is no sound coming out of it. I have an ASUS P5N64 WS PRO WIFI NF790ISLI Motherboard.

It was working on my other Board but i am not sure how. I had it hooked up and setup how i thought it would work and at first it wouldn't But about a week later just randomly it worked.
