Yesterday, I spent a very frustrating two and a half hours on the phone with
HP tech support, trying to solve a problem with a HP computer (DX2250) and
two HP printers (6310 AIO and F4250).
The problem is that the printers will NOT work with the computer. They are
connected with a USB cable.
The printer software will install ok except when it comes to the point of
seeing the printer(s).
When the software ("Solution Center") is started it says that no HP devices
are installed and it closes. However, I can print a email, Word Doc, etc.,
copy a doc using the button on the printer and scan a doc using Windows
Camera and Scanner Wizard.
The printer is shown in the Printers and Faxes folder and I can print a test
page.
I have tried several known to be good USB cables.
I have deleted all of the USB ports and let Windows re-install them.
I have uninstalled and re-installed the software at least six times.
I downloaded the software from the HP web site and used that instead of the
CD.
The software and printers will work just fine on three other HP computers ~
it just will not work on the DX2250 machine.
The bottom line from HP support was "Buy a new computer!"
Anyone out there have any ideas????
