[Ham-Computers] Time springs forward

I am still trying to figure out exactly where that "daylight" we are saving
is at. Since every place on the Earth gets the prescribed amount of daylight
for a given day, what position the clock hands are in changes nothing. So as
far as I am concerned, the entire concept of "daylight savings" is imaginary
to begin with!
Since nobody in our government can agree as to whether daylight savings time
is beneficial or a pain in the rumpus buttockus of those who must sit on a
stone bench to recalibrate a stone sun dial for such a time change, can we
expect all the other nations on this planet to agree to one time standard?
Remember the USA measurement standards Vs the metric standards nightmare?
When we have school children who do not know how many feet are in one mile,
and teachers so accustomed to the English Standard, or whatever it is
called, that they can not explain to the students why it is better to use a
kilometer then a mile, well ...What next? Moving "Good Friday to a Monday
for a holiday? (LOL!)
I'll buy anyone who knows his TLT, True Local Time, a toasted bologna
sandwich with fat free mayo and tomatos and a beverage of their choice who
does!
