OK Wayne,
You sure have brought back memories. I remember when the early computers
were making
inroads into the ham community, I thought "this is just a passing phase and
will be forgotten
soon"! How wrong I was! As a result, I got started much later than I would
have if I had
realized the infernal machines were here to stay!
Now, of course, I'd feel lost without one. The internet brings the world of
information to my
fingertips! I enjoy studying and learning. I have a multitude of interests,
too many to do a good
job on any one. I suppose I spread myself so thin I can't!
I have sailed Merchant Marine as radio op and do frequent the "Maritime
Mobile Service Net"
on 14,000 kcs. quite a bit. Also paticipate regularly in the WWCW, Waterways
CW net at
6 AM CT daily. Additionally, I am and have been a MARS member for over 50
years so
attend MARS nets frequently.
I will try to remember your Sunday nets. It is a matter of setting a habit.
Sort of like going to
church. If you get out of the habit, it is hard to get back into it. But,
once in the habit,
everything seems to fall into place on Sunday mornings!
I appreciate all the help you and others have provided me Duane. Take care,
Ken N5CM
