Replacing the DVD drive is a snap.  DVD burner drives cost about $30 and
you'll probably need a Parallel ATA (PATA, aka IDE) model.  Usually just a
matter of removing 4 screws, unplugging the data and power cables, plugging
in the new drive, plug in cables, and re-inserting screws.

$23 for a LiteON 20x DVD burner with free shipping...can't beat that!
