I failed to mention how I got rid of the spam.

It seems to have a cycle one it hits your inbox.  It want's to show you
everything before you can just hit delete.

I turned off my modem and after several error messages and connect attempts,
the message was told it finished its cycle, nothing was shown because it
could never connect, just a series of red X's and I was then able to hit
delete.

Normally I delete the message based on subject before it has a chance to
load, this appears to circumvent that.

I have the option of turning off HTML, but it causes problems in viewing
ebay messages, I do a lot of buying and selling.
