[Ham-Computers] Processor comparison

Dave,

Aaron can probably give a quantative answer but qualitatively, if your 
experience is similar to mine it should actually be faster with the Duo.  Last week 
I replaced an Intel 865 board and 3.1 GHz P-IV with a 965 and a 1.86 GHz Core 
2 Duo.  There may well be other components (including the system board) 
involved in the difference, and of course comparing drive intensive operations 
wouldn't be fair (old = EIDE, new = SATA).  But for operations like browsing and 
even booting up, what looks like a slower CPU is much faster.
