[Ham-Computers] Slow problem - again (Still)

The spyware/malware you have is probably preventing you from running msconfig, even if you could run msconfig and stop the programs from running at startup they would just re-install themselves.

The part of the log that I find suspicious is this:

O21 - SSODL: contrabandists - {dfa61db1-388e-4c87-8d56-540fa229bcb4} - (no file)
O21 - SSODL: carbinyl - {8d8c2387-7f80-4022-9be6-43630a969558} - (no file)

O22 - SharedTaskScheduler: Browseui preloader - {438755C2-A8BA-11D1-B96B-00A0C90312E1} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\browseui.dll
O22 - SharedTaskScheduler: Component Categories cache daemon - {8C7461EF-2B13-11d2-BE35-3078302C2030} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\browseui.dll
O22 - SharedTaskScheduler: contrabandists - {dfa61db1-388e-4c87-8d56-540fa229bcb4} - (no file)

I think you should post the log to the HiJack forums and let one of the frequent fliers there take a look, they will be able to advise you what to do alot quicker than I can. This could involve running more than one program to get rid of the spyware/malware.

Thanks for the tip!
I have attached the HiJack log file.
Also, do you have any ideas on why I keep getting the error msg when I try
to use msconfig? I AM logged on as administrator; I can log off and then on
again with another account (With admin. privileges), but still get the
error.
If I could use msconfig, I could just load the startup item one at a time
until I find the one that is causing the problem. . . .

Thanks

Go to http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php
and download HijackThis, run the program and post the log here or in one of
the Forums listed on the above web site, if you don't feel right posting to
this forum you can send it to me directly.

I have been futzing with this machine for several days now and am no closer
to solving the problem(s), so I really need some help!

First, the machine takes almost five minutes to boot to a usable desktop
(Where I can click on a icon to use the program).

When I try to use msconfig to trouble shoot, I get the following message:

"An access denied error was returned while attempting to change a service.
You may need to logon using a administrator account to make the specified
changes".

I AM logged on as administrator - in fact, it is the only account other than
guest. I have created another account with administrator privileges and
still get the above error message.

I have run scans for viruii from McAfee, System Suite, Trend Micro and
others and they all say that there are no infections. These scans were run
in normal AND safe mode.

So, how do I determine if it is in fact a virus or Trojan AND how do I fix
the problem with msconfig not being able to change services?

I have used my big black dog and have borrowed the neighbor's cat with no
help either running the Lab Tests and Cat Scans. . . .

HELP!
