Some think that is why Linux is better, but not all Linux 
distributions require lots of manual configuration. 
Debian-Etch, Fedora 4,5, and 6, and Mandrake (before it was 
'improved') all have GUI configuration tools for most 
applications.

Then there is Puppy Linux, which is a painless and quick 
install.

You can still use the old command line stuff and write your 
own configuration files the hard way, but you don't have to.
