[Ham-Computers] Dual-HD/Dual Boot

Thinking of adding a dual-boot option to my new PC when I get it. Have a 
spare HD I can toss in the machine and would like to partition half of 
it for archiving from the master HD, and use the remaining half for some 
iteration of LINUX. I did a dual-boot once before with a single HD, but 
have no clue how to set up a dual-boot option with two separate HDs. The 
new PC will come with Win XP Pro (no Vista for THIS guy yet!).

Would appreciate any input as to (a) the flavor of LINUX to use (ease of 
use is primary concern!) and (b) how to set up the boot option.
