Robert,
Easy solution...download IrfanView and use it as your primary image viewer. It supports .NEF files without any problems (I also have a D70) as well as many other formats (including DejaView - used by many hams). It's small, fast, and, best of all, it's freeware.

You should also install the "plug-ins" - available as a seperate download. Just don't use it to print unless you *need* to...it's print engine is a bit strange - the sizing options don't always work the way you expect it to.

p.s. As I always do when I push IrfanView, click on the "about the author" link on the webpage and scroll down to the picture of his hometown. It's like something out of a fairy-tale book (or a Star Wars movie or two...).

Subject: [Ham-Computers] Strange? IE6 Behavior
*** snip ***
Is this normal? Is there an option in IE6 that I can select to force IE to open a new instance instead of taking over an existing one? I don't want to go back to using Imaging for jpegs as it won't open photos downloaded from our Nikon D70 unless I run them through a compressor first. Is there anything else available as just a quick viewer that won't constantly bug me to buy the full-blown editor version?
