This is somewhat related to compacting the PST file.

Someplace it is vast archives of "stuff", Outlook must store every
e-mail address that it ever had any contact with.  I know that I have my
address book, and can get info from it.  But there must be a "hidden"
address book with 1000's and 1000's of e-mail addresses that I really
would like to get rid of.  I know they are there someplace, as Outlook
will automatically complete the addresses, even though they are not in
my address book.

Any one know where to find this "hidden" address book, and how to thin
it out?
