you can bypass the entire problem by purchasing an external hd case for 
your drive.  Be certain to purchase one that will work with SATA drives 
- they're a little more expensive than the IDE models.

It plugs right into a USB slot and the OS should recognize it right 
away.  You can cascade these things for days.

The small slot inside might be a PCI-X connector.


If you were really that stupid, you'd already be working at my place and 
would have handed me the drive in its box, asking me to put it in your 
hard drive. (anything that's not a monitor is either a hard drive or a CPU).
