[Ham-Computers] Verbatim recordable discs

Hi all,

I was able to make the first 2 days of the Consumer Electronics Show
(CES) this week.  Wish I could have stayed for the full 4 days, but I
have a family function in Hong Kong that I leave for today.

To follow up on a previous post about Verbatim recordable media, it
seems that Verbatim now outsources manufacturing of all DVD and CD
recordable media except for dual-layer DVD, HD-DVD, and BluRay
recordable media.  The rep assures me that they keep tight quality
controls over the outsourced media as they supply all the specs and
materials (the AZO dyes), but I've found actual quality to be
inconsistant.  I mentioned this fact to the rep and he says that he'll
look into it (yeah, right).

Anyways, just thought I'd let you know what I found.
