Dan,

Does this also work with Word Pad?

Being before DOS (Disk Operating System) when every maker had their own
BASIC (Beginners Alphabetic Symbolic Instructional Code?) I still prefer a
DOS based word processing program. Personally, Professional Write version
2.22 is my choice. (This is the last DOS version they released.) The
functions are easy to remember, very easy to execute - generally one key
stroke using a CTRL+, super efficient and having most features anyone could
possibly want. I am a published author, so my demands on it are heavy and
cover a broad scope of functionalities. I find it easier to use and more
efficient than any Windows based word processing program I have yet tried.

Granted, since I am totally blind, I have less need for graphic inserts and
so forth. However, the name is "word processer" and that applies to the
handeling of text, not graphics! I realize that the times have changed, I
used a Smith Corona electric portable to type my various weekly essay items
for my college classes, nowadays computers all but draft the original paper!
Then to add insult to ineptness, edit, spell check and correct the grammar.
I wonder how many of those on this list know how to type, that is, with more
than one or two fingers, and without looking at the keyboard? (chuckle)

Seems like more and more the world is coming down to color codes, point -
click - Mr. Mouse and push the button with the graphic of the desired task
to be executed shown above it.

How long before the porcelin throne has a remote? Heck I just wish I had my
old throne that flushed all deposits down the sewer on the first try! It may
have wasted water, but does flushing the throne three times really save
anything? If they really want to save water, then they should stop watering
the Astro Turf with those elaborate sprinkler systems! A great visual effect
with the rainbow colors dancing among the mist and the plastic grass
glistening from the chemical reaction caused by the introduction of H2O!
Sorry, remembering the ASCII days does this to me - Anyone remember what
ASCII stands for?
