I wish someone would do scanner apps.  There are a ton for Win but 
precious few for lin.

I've often wanted to put one together, but the sad fact is that I have 
almost zero programming experience.

It would be tremendous to be able to give back.  I know that it's done 
largely via sending commands to the serial (or usb?) port through a term 
program.


Oh well.  Maybe down the road.



There's at least one complete ham linux distro.  I think it's available 
via the Hamsoft site.
