Sorta like Win95, WinME, Win98, Win2000, WinXP, WinXP-SP2,
MS-Vista? I understand. :-)

I understand that MS-Vista is over $400., is not fully backwards
compatible, and requires the purchase of additional programs
to do what I can do with a free download of Puppy Linux (which
includes or has available office and many other apps - free).

I can buy a nice used HF rig, or a nice VHF/UHF rig for the
cost of getting MS-Vista running -- and won't have to load
1-5 repair patches daily to keep my OS from crashing or being
trashed by 1,000 viruses. More time and money for Ham radio
works for me! :-)

I have been running Linux for about a decade, with an old
MS-Win98SE box used only for children's learning games because
their programmers were not competent enough, or were anti-
competetive, and failed to write a version for Linux.

Because of poorly trained MS programmers Linux users operate
proprietary MS apps under Linux using a free app called
WINE. It runs them using nothing from MS and I no longer
have Win98SE loaded anywhere.

It has taken me through a doctorate degree, a small business,
my hobby, family uses, etc. Did you know that the Home Depot
corporation runs entirely on Linux, as does much of the
government of Germany?

Oh, it is also fun opening viruses with Linux that would
destroy a MS machine. ;-) Just thought you'd lke to know.

Have a great weekend, off to breakfast here!
