bold thinkers that they are, MS left that out of W2K (which I like
better than XP anyway). There are a number of ways to get this
information in 2k though.

Do a websearch for startup info. Many freeware solutions exist.
I don't know if you've tried it, but "Hijack This" is an invaluable tool
that contains this information and a lot more (also available by
search).

The problem with Hijack is that you need to fully understand what you're
looking at, or you can do some interesting damage. It will tell you
EVERYTHING that starts with the computer, including your hardware
drivers, the thing that goes DING when you hit certain keys, the driver
for your special keyboard keys, wireless drivers, and who knows what
else (in addition to spyware and malware, of course).

Their site has a ton of info and forums that cover just about
everything. I don't leave home without it (plus Ad-Aware and Spybot
Search & Destroy). I use this Terrible Trio to diagnose and remove just
about all Windows-based crapware (I don't do Macs but I primarily run
linux). Another great piece of freeware is Crap Cleaner, which gets rid
of tons of temporary junk sitting on your hard drive.

Good luck.
