It doesn't look like Yahoo provides an easy way to download mail via the
Webmail client (not even with the newer webclient they're testing that
has the MS Outlook "look and feel"). There are a few ways to get the
mail, but either involve a cost or a *LOT* of time.

1. Upgrade to a "paid" Yahoo account and then use the POP access to
download the mail. Thought...find someone who has SBC/ATT as their ISP
and ask them to create a temporary mail sub-account under their master
account (SBC/ATT allows up to 10 sub-accounts). These sub-accounts are
considered paid accounts and have POP access (as well as the standard
Yahoo webmail client). Then, during the sub-account creation process,
choose the option to migrate an existing Yahoo account to the new
sub-account. Once done, the mail will be migrated to the sub-account
and you'll have POP access in order to download them. Once your done,
"suspend" the account and it will be cancelled after 90 days. The
downside to this is that your "other half's" e-mail address will be
cancelled and she'll need to create a new one. On the other hand, if
the person who created the sub-account is willing to host her e-mail,
then this won't be a problem and you'll have a paid Yahoo e-mail
account. Careful though, this might be against SBC/ATT's Terms of
Service...read up on who's supposed to use sub-accounts, just to be
sure.

2. Forward each e-mail to a POP-based account. This will be time
consuming as you can only forward one e-mail at a time, but it's free.

3. View the "printable" version of each e-mail and print a hard-copy.
Time consuming and will cost a couple reams of paper (and ink/toner).
If you have a PDF writer, you can write a PDF file instead of printing
on paper.
