Make sure you look at the screens while making a decision. The 650's
screen is a little larger than either of the 700's. The 650 and 700p
use the Palm OS and the 700w uses Win Mobile.

The screen size is different because of what Win needs to display correctly.

I remember hearing that the processors are the same but there's more
available memory in the 700's. Quite frankly, I wouldn't use Windows
because I don't like it (unstable, etc), plus I can't imagine how much
more horsepower Win Mob will require to put all the graphics on the screen.

If I wanted graphics on my 650, there are many options. I won't use
fancy graphics because it's a bit underpowered as it stands.

My brother got a non-Treo device with Win Mob and has to reboot it a few
times per day. This may or may not have to do with Win. I have heard
other stories about Win Mob being every bit as `stable' as its desktop
counterparts. Others complain that it takes more steps to get the same
task accomplished.

I urge you to learn all you can first, then do some in-hand comparisons.
See which one you work best with. Watch for crashes on either OS.

The 700's also have better cameras, if that's important to you.

Speaking only for myself, I don't see any reason to go to a 700 from my
650. If I were making a first purchase, perhaps the 700p. Otoh, you'll
be able to find some deals on the 650's that are being blown out.

Also check the plans and coverage. You'll need voice AND data plans.
The 700p's are only available from Sprint and Verizon now. Can't
remember about 700w's. Cingular and T-Mobile use a different type of
transmission (CDMA vs GSM, I think).

I have used T-Mobile and Verizon with Treos. T-Mobile was so-so but
doesn't care for Treos at all (you can't buy one from them). Verizon
has much better coverage but heaven help you if you need to talk to
someone there.

There are several Treo groups at yahoogroups. If you aren't subscribed,
you should do so. Lots of Treo freaks there who know the answers to the
most bizarre trivial questions :) Also check mytreo.net and other palm
sites.

Good luck and feel free to ask me any specific questions.
