[Ham-Computers] Problem with laptop...Help

Ok gang, this one has me stumped.
I have a older Compaq Armada V300 that needed the OS updated, its running 
Win 98SE.

I put my old dial up account back on there last night and got on the 
Microsoft site and let it download overnite, got up this morning early to 
check to see how it was doing, computer was locked up and now it won't come 
on at all.

Man that has me totally baffled.

Ideas...suggestions...
