Jim,

Resolution is resolution, it really matters not what you view, everything
looks more clear, bright and distinct.

Do not sell the CRT short though, they can generate some outstanding
resolution too! Much depends on the system, video card and how it is set up.

The flat panel has one BIG liability, the LCD that make up the screen. DO
NOT TOUCH! warns the manufacturer, as they are soft crystals and can be
punctured quite easily. A CRT is far more durable.

If you have children or grandchildren using the computer, I might stay with
a CRT for safety's sake!

One advantage of either the flat panel or the flat screen display is the
elimination of the inclination toward distortion in the very corners. Some
claim less glare on the flat screen and a more realistic look.

naturally one considerable advantage of the flat panel is it weighs less and
can be hung on a wall. Because it is far less deep, it can also take up much
less space on a desk. On the downside of this, it also weighs quite a bit
less and is quite easy to knock off the desk accidentally!
